307 – Fathom, Vol. 1

We’re back after our long winter break to give you an episode on “Fathom, Vol. 1” by Michael Turner to kick off our series on comics with new superheroes. In Fathom, a young woman named Aspen gains superpowers and becomes embroiled in a war between those above and those below. We have a great time talking about this comic, from the incredible art that made Michael Turner a juggernaut in the 90’s all the way to those dangling plot points. Plus, we talk about Thor: Ragnarok, the MCU, and Disney’s role in nerddom in 2018.

134 – Butts!

BUTTS!

We’re making up for lost time! It just so happens that we never recorded an episode 134, so we’re filling in the blanks before next week’s EPISODE 300 by taking a listener request topic: the best butts in comics! We mention some of the greatest hits, but overall have a discussion about objectification, who gets to have a good butt, and how they get to show that butt.

Our second ep in Morrison vs. Miller features “Batman: Incorporated” Volume one of volume one from 2010 (I think). We’re actually a whole week late just because I read the wrong trade. But now that we’re back, we’re gonna talk abotu Scorpiana’s sexily unsexy costume, all those batmans, and tentacle porn. Mostly though, we talk about Man-of-Bats and just how awesome that issue is.
