308 – Voodoo: What Lies Beneath

This week we pick up Ron Marz’s “Voodoo: What Lies Beneath.” One of the first wave of New 52 launch titles, this book was supposed to herald a new character story into the DC Universe. Instead, we got an alien stripper in a story that keeps falling flat. We talk about that stripper “origin story” stuff, the comic’s mixed messages, and the surprisingly good art. Why are we even reading a WildCATs hero in our “new heroes” series? Plus, David is a bad person.

Our second ep in Morrison vs. Miller features “Batman: Incorporated” Volume one of volume one from 2010 (I think). We’re actually a whole week late just because I read the wrong trade. But now that we’re back, we’re gonna talk abotu Scorpiana’s sexily unsexy costume, all those batmans, and tentacle porn. Mostly though, we talk about Man-of-Bats and just how awesome that issue is. This week we read “Aquaman: The Trench” by Geoff Johns. This New52 reboot of a classic character has, along with the entire DCnU, wondering what, exactly, does Aquaman do? What kind of guy is he? Are Bob Ross and Alex Ross related? We talk about character, Mera, trench monsters, and other fishy subjects. For more information on past or future shows, visit www.AtomicPoweredSuperCast.com!
