Our Morrison vs. Miller arc wraps up with Frank Miller’s “The Dark Knight Strikes Again.” In this story, we return to the word created in “The Dark Knight Returns,” three years after the faked death of Bruce Wayne. This time, Bruce sets out to bring back all the other heroes and take on their tyrannical, oppressive government — a government so insidious that the news is given to you naked and superchix musicians in spandex lead a rebellion. If that sounds wacky, that’s because it is. I get the feeling that this comic will live on in infamy. For more information on past for future shows, visit www.AtomicPoweredSuperCast.com!

it’s Miller Time in our “Batman: Morrison vs. Miller” series as we read the seminal “Dark Knight Returns” by Frank Miller. This beast of a comic creation ages Bruce Wayne to his latter years after a 10 year sabbatical from the Batman. We talk about the changes the villains undergo, the debate on whether Batman should have even returned, and Beef Supre– err, I mean President Camacho. The tales of King Arthur are some of the oldest, most established stories in the entire genre of fantasy literature. “Camelot 3000” by Mike Barr and Brian Bolland brings the tradition to comics. Arthur awakes to England under siege by an alien invasion while the world’s leaders sit by and scheme over power. We talk about the comic’s controversial cojones, transgender characters, the perils of modernizing classics, and David Bowie.
