This week we take a break from cracking the books and finish up our Dwayne McDuffie series with what he’s probably best known for: animated television. We watch a couple time travel episodes titled “The Once and Future Thing,” both written and produced by McDuffie. We also wrap up our discussion on the man’s influence in the popular perception of superheroes today. Starting this week, we’re going to take a look at some of the works of the late, great Dwayne McDuffie. As a creator he’s maybe not as famously known as some of the headline writers of the big two, but his influence on the comic book industry is undeniable. We start off by reading “Rebirth of the Cool,” a trade paperback featuring McDuffie’s own creation, Static Shock. It’s co-written with Robert L. Washington III and drawn by Jon Paul Leon and Steve Mitchell. For more information about previous and upcoming shows, check out the show schedule at www.AtomicPoweredSuperCast.com.
